A finalist in the 2021 Master Builders Tasmania Awards for Excellence, this fully off-grid house is powered completely by solar. A beautiful home situated overlooking picturesque Arthurs Lake in the central highlands of Tasmania, taking inspiration from Scandinavian design. The brief included using passive building techniques to ensure a well-sealed and insulated home to provide optimal living amongst the harsh winters and hot summers known for the area. A thermal mass base level was incorporated to regulate inside temperatures and large north-facing glazing help maximise solar gain.
